EPA To Hold 3 Hearings for Cement Plant Rule June 16-18

EPA is holding three hearings on the proposed amendments to its national emissions standards for Portland cement manufacturing plants June 16 thru June 18 . This proposal would set the nation’s first limits on mercury emissions from existing Portland cement kilns and would strengthen the limits for new kilns. The proposed standards also would set emission limits for total hydrocarbons and particulate matter from cement kilns of all sizes, and would reduce hydrochloric acid emissions from kilns that are large hydrochloric acid emitters.

Below are the hearing dates and locations. Sign ups for speaking at the hearings close two business days prior to each of the hearings. To register to speak at the hearings, please contact Pamela Garrett [919-541-7966].
