Exxon Mobil Corporation has announced three major oil and natural gas discoveries in the Gulf of Mexico. Two of the finds, of natural gas at the Hadrian South prospect and oil at the Hadrian North prospect contain a combined 700 million barrels of oil equivalent.
Last year, Exxon produced 28,000 barrels of oil a day in the Gulf. Exxon could end up producing 200,000 to 300,000 barrels a day of oil equivalent from its new discoveries in the Gulf.
