New President of Brazil Is An Energy Expert

Dilma Rousseff, won Brazil's presidency this past weekend. Ms. Rousseff was endorsed by outgoing President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva. Rousseff will become the country's first female president.

President Elect Rousseff was appointed Secretary of Energy and Communication in 1993. She was appointed Minister of Energy by President Lula da Silva in 2002.  Her management of the Ministry was marked by the respect for contracts.  Rousseff supported market solutions and promoted investments in power generation.
